An Introduction to Guided Group Travel with Adventures by Disney and Globus

Traveling the world is an exciting and grand proposition but it can also be scary and challenging. Where should you go, what should you see, when you see it how do you make sure you know the backstory, how do you get there, is the area safe? A simple way to take all of the worries and stress out of your vacation is to opt for guided group travel.

Guided group travel is when you book a spot on a specific itinerary though a travel provider. You then travel throughout your destination with the group and guide. You simply book your airfare to your destination and let them take care of the rest. It is the perfect recipe for a hassle free vacation.

In some cases this can also be a more economical way to travel. Though you are paying a lump sum by traveling with a guided group you are getting a group rate on hotels, museums, etc. When comparing costs you have to look at everything you are getting with your booking and the quality of it all. Yes you could find a less expensive hotel but would it be a 2 star vs. the 4 star you are getting with the group itinerary.

Guided travel comes with the built in advantage of a guide who can offer historical and cultural background about the sites you are visiting. You also have the added benefit of safety in both numbers and knowledge. Your travel provider knows where it is safe to take travelers, and will only take you to those locations. Group travel also offers plenty of company with your tour group. All itineraries also have on your own time built in so your travel party can get some time alone together.

A huge hassle when trying to cover a lot of ground on vacation is transportation. This is where guided travel shines. All of your transportation is included, often on private buses that allow the whole group to enjoy the sites on the road and not worry about driving in unfamiliar areas.

Adventures By Disney

Disney’s group travel division is Adventures By Disney.

Adventures by Disney offers specially created family oriented itineraries around the world including North and South America, Asia, Europe and Africa. There are many options to choose from all with amazing destinations.

There are also special itineraries that are adults only, if you wish to not travel with any children in the group.

While most Adventures By Disney run 7 of more day they also offer several Short Escape options in North America and Europe that are 3 or 4 days long. These short escapes can be a great trip on their own or an amazing addition to a Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, or Disney Cruise Line vacation.

For the ultimate Disney lover there are even 2 southern California based itineraries that include visiting Disneyland, the Disney Studios, and the Walt Disney Archives.

You can also partake in water based adventures with river cruise offerings and even expedition cruises to locations like the Galapagos and Antactica. These ships are not Disney Cruise Line but ships that belong to another company that Adventures by Disney has contracted with.

Adventures By Disney trips bring the Disney difference to group travel. All adventures include two guides, one of which is a local to your destination. The Disney name and connections allows access to special experiences such as going behind the scenes at Good Morning America in New York City or access to the best regional experts and experiences.

Whats included in the price tag?

  • Transportation within your trip, including airport transfers
  • Taxes and most gratuities
  • Outstanding accommodations
  • Tickets and admission to events and attractions
  • Most meals including spectacular dining options and snacks
  • Luggage and concierge services

Globus

Another option in group travel is Globus. Their itineraries are often more budget friendly than Adventures by Disney. They also offer a great many more itineraries around the world. With more options you can find the trip that is just right for you.

Globus itineraries are open to the whole family but they are not designed with family in mind like Adventures by Disney. Depending on your travel group this can be a pro or a con.

Many Globus itineraries also offer more independent time built into them.

If you are looking for hassle free travel where you can still see and do a lot during your vacation group travel might be the best option for you.
