How To Pick The Right Resort For Your Disney World Vacation

With over 25 resorts to choose from narrowing down your options can seem challenging. Ask yourself these few questions and you will find the right resort for your vacation in no time. Make a list of your answers as you go.

What is your hotel budget?

This is a big part of choosing a resort as you want to leave room in the overall budget for park tickets, food, and more. First decide what you are comfortable with spending both overall and on the hotel. This is where working with a travel agent can be a big benefit as we can help you find the best deals on the hotel you are interested in. We can also lay out comparative rates and show you all the costs associated with your trip.

Once you have your budget move onto the other questions, and don’t worry there are multiple options at every price point. Disney categorizes their resorts from lowest priced to highest priced as value, moderate, and deluxe resorts.

What type of room do you want?

Do you want a standard hotel room, something larger like a family suite, or a 2 bedroom suite?

Are you looking for a king bed or looking for a room with more than 2 beds?

What kind of view are you looking for? A theme park, pool, water, or is this not important to you?

Do you need a kitchen or kitchenette, a washer and dryer, or mini-fridge?

Do you have a shower vs bathtub preference?

Do you like enclosed hallways or garden style open air ones?

What amenities are you looking for?

What “star level” are you expecting from the resort?

Will you be wanting room service?

Are you looking for pools, water slides, and splash areas for little ones?

Do you want to eat at food courts or table service dining or both?

Do you want to utilize character dinning on site?

What kind of theming do you prefer?

Will you want a bar or lounge onsite?

How far are you willing to walk to your room?

Do you want to be dropped off right in front of the lobby and take an elevator right to your room?

Are you willing to walk to outer buildings to get to your room?

Do you mind walking 5 – 10 minutes to get your coffee in the morning? Or to grab food?

What transportation and location do you prefer?

Do you want to be located closer to Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom? Or another park?

All resorts have bus transportation to and from the parks. Are you also looking for Monorail or Skyliner transportation in addition to buses?

Do you want to be close to a lot of dining options?

Do you want to be able to walk to a park?

Do you want easier access to Disney Springs?
